"The senior citizens at Lindsay Place Apartments need your help." That's the word from Matt Shelton of Calvary Baptist Church.
The residents of Lindsay Place live in one-room apartments with little space for big crowds. They have access to a large community room, but on nice days they often sit outside in front of an apartment to visit and get some fresh air.
Donations are now being collected to build them a handicap-accessible pavilion to sit under and enjoy the weather and the company of family and friends.  
According to Mr. Shelton, his Care Group at Calvary Baptist Church has gotten estimates and has plans already drawn up.  
“Once built, this pavilion will be around for generations to come,” Mr. Shelton continued. "Existing picnic tables will be set there and will make it an even more enjoyable space."
All money donated will be used solely for this project, and a tax-deductible donation letter will be provided upon request.  
Donations may be mailed or hand-delivered to Calvary Baptist Church at 410 W. Chickasaw Street, Lindsay, OK 73052. Checks may be made payable to Calvary Baptist Church, with “Pavilion” or “Lindsay Place” on the memo part of the check.  
“Thank you for always taking care of Lindsay’s senior citizens,” Mr. Shelton continued.

Calling all Bobbie Soxers!
The ladies of Beta Sigma Phi in Lindsay are getting ready for the 2022 Daddy-Daughter Dance Sock Hop, according to a member.
The dance begins at 6:00 p.m., and ends at 8:00 p.m. It will be held in the Lindsay School Cafeteria, located at the corner of S.W. 8th and Creek Streets in Lindsay.
This is a chance for the girls to get all dolled up, and their Dads or Father figures should dress to impress her. 
All Pre-K thru 12th grade girls are welcome to attend with their Dad or Father figure, and dance the night away! Refreshments will be served. 
"This is a night of dancing, having fun, and making memories. We hope you’ll plan to attend this event with your daughter," Lisa Hilliard added.  
Reservations are not required. There is an entry fee for each daddy/daughter couple, plus a fee for each additional daughter.
All proceeds from the dance go toward scholarships, school projects, and community projects supported by the Lindsay Beta Sigma Phi.

The Lindsay Community Historical Society is hosting a Children’s Tea Party at the Murray-Lindsay Mansion on St. Patrick’s Day, Thurs., Mar. 17.
Children ages four to 12 will be able to enjoy the fun of dressing up in gloves and hats to sit together in small groups and enjoy their tea and cookies, according to Thelma Love.  
A tour of the Historic Murray-Lindsay Mansion will be given.   
Stories of the children who lived in the Mansion will be told by Frances Bunch, the great-granddaughter of Anita Lindsay, for whom the town of Lindsay is named.

Masters Voice will be holding revival at First Baptist Church of Lindsay, according to their ad in this week's Shopper.
The revival is set for Sun., Mar. 27 through Wed., Mar. 30 at the church, located at 401 SW 3rd in Lindsay.
The church will furnish meals at noon Monday through Wednesday, and also at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
"Join us for a time of revival, worship, fellowship, encouragement, and blessing," one member added.
A lover offering will be taken for Master's Voice at each service.
Service times are 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sun., Mar. 27, and 7:00 p.m. Mon., Mar. 28 through Wed., Mar. 30.
