The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce will host Lindsay's Founders' Day celebration on Sat., May 7. The Annual Car Show is also set for this day.
"There will be lots of fun for the whole family!" That's the word from Chamber Director, Clara Doan.
The fun-filled weekend starts off with a car cruise at 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Fri., May 6. The cruise will start at the Depot, located at 107 N. Main in Lindsay, and is open to everyone.
Saturday's fun begins at 9:00 a.m., with food and vendor booths opening at that time.
Vendors with arts, crafts, metal, wood work and more will be set up, as well as all the favorite food vendors.
Country music will be performed by Wyatt Zane and his band, beginning at 11:00 Saturday morning and continuing until 2:00 that afternooon. Those attending should bring their lawn chairs and plan to enjoy some "good ole country music".
The Founders' Day parade is always a favorite event, and is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sat., May 7 on Main Street.
Ms. Doan explained that volunteers are needed to help in different areas of the event.

Museum open in Lindsay for Founder’s Day
The Ryan Taylor-Dutton Family Museum will be open Sat., May 7 for Founder's Day, according to Carl Dutton.
The doors will open at 10:00 that morning and will stay open until 3:00 that afternoon.
The museum has many antique and collectible items on display, including broomcorn memorabilia from when Lindsay was the broomcorn capitol of the world.
Mr. Dutton encourages everyone to stop by and visit at 601 W. Cherokee in Lindsay.
Lindsay Library celebrating 50 years
The Lindsay Community Library Board of Directors would like to invite the citizens of Lindsay and surrounding communities to the 50th Anniversary celebration of the library at 112 W Choctaw, according to a board member.
There will be an open house on Thursday, April 28th, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with refreshments served.
On September 10, 1969, a resolution was passed by the library board to consider the purchase of the present site from a local investor and allowing a committee to be formed for raising funds for the renovation.
Maurice Moore was the secretary and Richard E. Adams was the president of that library board.
The library had been in service for over 12 years.
It was in need of additional space to allow for continued growth and expansion.
The plans were then brought to the city council in February, 1970.
A grand opening was performed in April, 1972, following the completion of transforming the building into the architectural design planned for the library.

hanks to the support of the community, city council, city managers, mayors and previous library board members, the library continues to thrive, keeping up with digital age, promoting literacy and providing innumerable other services.
The current library board members, Pam Urban, Kathy Riddle, Jan Blaylock and Sheryl Kochert, encourage everyone to come by and check out the library on Thursday, April 28th, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., celebrating 50 years at 112 W Choctaw, in Lindsay.
Bingo fundraiser set by Lindsay Lions Club
The Lindsay Lions Club is set to host a Bingo fundraiser on Thurs., May 5, according to a news release.
The fundraiser will be held at Teran's Mexican Restaurant, located at the corner of Hwy. 19 and Hwy. 76 North in Lindsay.
Bingo will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
All funds raised will be used for a Senior scholarship.
52nd annual Earth Day is April 22
This month, the world will celebrate the 52nd annual Earth Day.
Earth Day is always celebrated on April 22, and raises awareness of the importance of long-term ecological sustainability.
Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson came up with the idea of Earth Day in the 1960s, and established the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970.
Beginning in 1990, Earth Day went worldwide, teaching everyone that a clean Earth is a happy Earth.
