Come one! Come all! – to the Circus Big Top – on Thurs., Sept. 29.
The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus in Lindsay, according to Chamber Manager Clara Doan.
The Big Top will be set up at Glen Curlee park, located at 800 S.W. 4th in Lindsay.
Shows start at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., on Thurs., Sept. 29.
Tickets are available for purchase at American Exchange Bank of Lindsay, First National Bank of Lindsay, and at the Lindsay Chamber of Commerce. All of these businesses are located on Lindsay’s grand brick Main Street.

Wiley Post festival set for this Saturday in Maysville
The Wiley Post festival is set for this Sat., Sept. 17, starting at 10:00 a.m., according to Janet Dinwiddie, Librarian at the Maysville Public Library.
This year’s festival features a car show, as well as craft vendors, food vendors, music and fun all day.
The Maysville Public Library sponsors the fun event named for Maysville’s most famous son, Wiley Post.
Festivities begin with a welcome at 10:00 a.m., and the parade will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Williams Street in downtown Maysville.
The cheerleaders and band will perform during the day. There will be music by Mary Alice Koehn.
“We have food and craft vendors, but there’s always room for more, and there’s still time to reserve your spot. Come join the fun!” Ms. Dinwiddie added.
Wiley Post was the first pilot to fly solo around the world, discovered the jet stream, wore the world’s first pressure suit, and was the pilot for famed humorist and fellow Oklahoman, Will Rogers.

Clothes closet open in downtown Lindsay
The Erin Springs Baptist Church clothes closet is open in downtown Lindsay on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., according to Brenda Morrow.
EVERYONE is invited to select clothing, and it is all FREE.
New items are added weekly.

Fundraiser set for After Prom Party
The Junior class after prom party is hosting and event to be held Sat., Oct. 1, according to Kimberly Williams.
This event will be the same day as the annual REC meeting and city wide garage sales.
Yard sale spaces located at the Lindsay school bus parking lot will be available to purchase will proceeds going to the after from party.
The spaces are are ten feet by ten feet. Individuals are able to purchase more than one space.

Loads of fun planned for Alex Founders’ Day
Fun and festivities are on the schedule for the annual Alex Founders’ Day celebration and Car Show, set for Sat., Sept. 10, according to Paige Ridley.
The one-day, fun-loaded event is held in “The Grove Park” from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and has something for everyone!
Vendors, a fish fry, a car show, a parade, food trucks, a pet show, an obstacle course, an archery shoot, a kids’ fishing derby (perch only), and a bass fishing tournament are all included in the activities for the day.
The annual fish fry will be held that evening, and includes live entertainment.
Vendor set-up is between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The car show registration is from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
The bass fishing tournament is for two-man teams, and goes from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
