Memorial Day service set Purdy cemetery

Sat., May 27th through Mon., May 29th members of the Purdy Cemetery Association will be taking donations to support the cemeteries’ upkeep, according to LaVern Russell.
Volunteers will sit daily at the Cemetery gate to receive donations.
On Memorial Day Mon., May 29th at 11:00 a.m. the Purdy Cemetery Association will have their annual Memorial Day service.
The Memorial Day ceremonies will begin with the American Legion Post #23 presenting the 21 Gun Salute & Taps.
The service will include a presentation by Ronnie Ackerman, Bible message by Nathanial Roberts, and message in song Billingsley family.
A pot luck lunch will follow the service with good food and fellowship.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Memorial Day Service at the Purdy Cemetery, just bring a lawn chair, favorite potluck food and enjoy a great commemoration of our loved ones gone on before us, Ms. Russell explained.
