THE social event of the year – Lindsay’s annual Ag Boosters cake auction and buyers’ appreciation barbecue – is happening this weekend, Sat., Aug. 22, according to event organizers.
Lindsay’s 4-H and FFA kids will show their animals they’ve spent their summer working with – cows, sheep, pigs, and goats – in the Fair Saturday morning.
The Fair is held at the Fair Barn, located at the north end of George Brown Ave., one block west of Hwy. 76N, (behind the new Lindsay Police Deptartment).
The cake auction and buyers’ appreciation barbecue will be held at the REC Multi-Purpose Building, located on Hwy. 76N in Lindsay.
The FREE barbecue meal includes Smokin’ Joe’s ribs, brisket and the fixins, and will be served at 6:00 p.m. The cake auction will begin at 7:00 p.m.
All funds raised from this event will go toward furthering opportunites for the youth in Lindsay FFA and 4-H. The money goes directly to funding the awards and premiums at the fall and spring shows, and to share expenses at camps, contests, leadership trips, scholarships and fair barn renovations.
