Pauls Valley Opry set for this Saturday

A full line-up of entertainers are set to perform at the Pauls Valley Opry on Sat., June 4, according to an announcement.
The entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Pauls Valley Junior High School auditorium, located at 109 W. Guy Avenue in Pauls Valley.
The event will feature music by the Memory Makers Band, with special guests John Williams, April Davis, Rod Jones, Mary Alice Koehn, Dea Newsom, and Dana Price.
John Williams will serve as the emcee.

First Church of Lindsay celebrates 15th


The First Church of Lindsay is set to celebrate their 15th anniversary with a series of services this weekend, according to Angel Wilbourn.
Services will be held Thurs., May 26 at 7:00 p.m., Fri., May 27 at 7:00 p.m., and Sun., May 29 at 11:00 a.m.
Featured speakers include Bishop Terry Erwin of Paoli, Bishop Douglas White of Silsbee, Texas, Rev. Benjamine White of Silsbee, Texas, and Rev. Shane Burn of Oklahoma City.
Host pastor Scott Wilbourn invites the community to join in the time of worship and celebration.

Foodbank distribution set for this Saturday

The Lindsay Community Foodbank will be giving out food Sat., May 28, according to Lisa Jackson of Lindsay’s Calvary Baptist Church.
The Foodbank will be open at the church between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Those who would like to fill out an application for the Foodbank may still do so. Applications may be filled out at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 410 W. Chickasaw in Lindsay, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
“If you are an individual or a business that would like to volunteer at the Foodbank, please call me, Lisa Jackson, at 405-756-2781,” Ms. Jackson explained.

Blood drive set for Thurs., May 26

Adventure Starts Here . . . by giving blood.
In fact, blood is urgently needed in Oklahoma.
The next Lindsay Community Blood Drive is set for Thurs., May 26, and will be held at the United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The church is located at 114 W. Chickasaw in Lindsay.
All donors receive a FREE Adventure Starts Here t-shirt, plus their choice of one FREE adult admission to Safari Joe’s H2O, Science Museum Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Zoo, or Frontier City, while supplies last.
The blood drives are put on by the Oklahoma Blood Institute and South Central Medical and Resource Center in Lindsay.
All healthy adults, ages 16 years and older, are encouraged to give. Donations take about an hour and can be made every 56 days.
Donors are reminded to take a photo ID with them to the drive.

Maysville 8U team hosts invitational tourney

The Maysville Warriors 8U Baseball Team is excited to announce that it will be hosting an invitational tournament at the Maysville ball fields on Sat., May 21 and Sun., May 22, according to Tyler Dean.
Teams from across the Washita Canadian Valley League have been invited to the tournament. Play will include teams from Chickasha, Dibble, Lexington, Lindsay, Purcell, Wayne, and Maysville.
The weekend will feature a three-game guarantee for all teams, rings for champion and runner-up teams, certified umpires, exciting play on the field, great food, family and fun in the grove!
Numerous businesses and families have shown tremendous support for the event, and players will all go home with some customized tournament swag! The entire Maysville community is invited to come out and support this exciting event!
The Maysville Warrior 8U Team is off to a solid start this year with a 7-2 record. The team’s remaining home games include a double header starting at 6:15 p.m. on Mon., May 23 and single games on Thurs., May 26 and Tues., June 7, both starting and 7:15 pm.
Team members include Case Baker, Daelyn Close, Talan Dean, Tucker Foraker, Jhett Hailey, Hank Hobson, Lucas McGowen, Jayden McKee, Landon Salazar, and Brydon Sebastian. The Warriors are coached by Head Coach Tyler Dean and assistants Jake Baker, Chris Close, Keith Foraker, Keith Hailey and Brad Hobson.
