Elks lodge to host community open house

Lindsay Elks lodge is hosting a community open house Sat., Apr. 1 at 6:00 p.m., according to Lee Martin.
The open house event will feature music from the Mullen Band.
Members will be serving pig cooked in the ground with all the fixings. Beverages will be available to purchase.
Lodge members invite anyone interested in learning about the Elks to be their guest at this event.

Lindsay music department sets fundraiser

The Lindsay music department will host the Kona Ice truck Thur., Mar. 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., according to an announcement.
The truck will be in the parking lot west of Leopard Arena, 800 W. Creek in Lindsay.
The announcement stated that funds raised from the sale of the sweet, icy treats will support band and vocal students.

Food bank this Saturday in Lindsay

The Lindsay Community Food Bank, located at Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay is celebrating it’s one year anniversary this month, according to program coordinator, Lisa Jackson.
The food bank is part of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. It is run entirely by volunteers and is funded by the many generous donations from the city, individuals, companies and organizations. The success of the program is centered around those who have donated and generously given of their time. Ms. Jackson expressed sincere thanks to all who have donated or volunteered.
Ms. Jackson explained that 148 people have volunteered and 40,390 pounds of food has been been distributed since Wed., Mar. 1 2022.
March food pick-up will be this Sat., Mar. 25 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Anyone needing to apply for the food bank may do so Mon.-Thur. at the church, located at 410 W. Chickasaw.
