Lindsay High School Students out Serving is hosting a Veterans Drive to help veterans have a great Christmas, according to an announcement.
All donations will go directly to the veteran’s home in Norman.
Donations are due by Fri., Dec. 1, and can be dropped off at the Lindsay High School office in care of Students out Serving.
Items needed include pajama pants or sweat pants in all sizes with no elastic or cuff and the bottom (ankle circulation), men’s scented body wash and body spray, no cologne please, diabetic socks, sugar free candy, lap blankets, playing cards/dominoes and personal hygiene items.
Band Booster garage sale close out set
Lindsay High School Band Boosters will be cleaning out the garage sale building Sat., Nov. 18 from 8:00 a.m. – noon, according to Jessica Parker.
There’s still items left, including brand new regular and steel-toed boots, heavy duty tables, desk, tools, housewares, a mattress topper, 12 foot Christmas tree, glassware and more, with a few ‘new’ items added to the mix.
Shoppers might even find the perfect Dirty Santa gift or a treasure for that person who has everything!
Pricing is by donation. Most offers accepted. Proceeds benefit the Lindsay Public Schools – Band Program.
“Come grab what’s left and help us get it all cleared out!” Ms. Parker stated.
It’s Bingo Night!
It’s time again for Bingo with the Legion!
American Legion Ball Smith Post 23, Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion are hosting a bingo night Thur., Nov. 16, according to a member.
Bingo will be played from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 301 W. Choctaw.
Ten turkeys will be given away in a drawing, with one ticket issued per card for the drawing. Drawing will be done before the last game of “blackout”
Members of Post 23 and chapters are not eligible to receive any prizes.
“We hope to see everyone there,” the member added.
Blood Drive Today!
Don’t be a Grinch blood drive is set for Thurs., Nov. 16, according to Tammy Aprill.
The Lindsay Community Blood Drive will be held at the United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The church is located at 114 W. Chickasaw in Lindsay.
The blood drive is put on by the Oklahoma Blood Institute and South Central Medical and Resource Center.
All donors receive a FREE long sleeved holiday T-shirt.
Donors are reminded to take a photo ID with them to the drive. Those seeking more information may contact Ms. Aprill at 405-756-1414.
