Lindsay High School (LHS) Seniors will be honored this week with their Senior Video at 10:00 a.m. on Fri., July 10 in the High School Auditorium, and their Graduation Ceremony on Sat., July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Burford Field, according to a news release.

Practice for Graduation is set for 9:00 a.m. on Fri., July 10 at Burford Field, followed by the Senior Video. 

Graduating Senior girls should wear dress or pants suits, and graduating Senior boys should wear black pants, a white collared shirt, and a black tie. Nice shoes should be worn. No tennis shoes, dirty work boots, or flip flop-type sandals will be allowed. 

Graduates should NOT decorate the top of their mortar boards.

Seniors are welcome to have their banners and yard signs that were sponsored by the local banks. The yard signs will be available for pick-up from the First National Bank of Lindsay throughout the week. The large banners, displayed from the light poles in downtown Lindsay, were sponsored by American Exchange Bank of Lindsay, and will be attached to the fence at Graduation. They will be available to the graduates after the Graduation Ceremony on Saturday morning.

Everyone is welcome to attend the ceremonies at Lindsay’s Burford Field, located on the south side of the Lindsay School campus. Everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, and send the new graduates off with well wishes for their bright futures.

Oklahoma voters head to the polls next week on Tues., June 30. Some of these elections have been postponed from the original April 7 elections, others are primaries.
In local elections, voters will decide three seats on Lindsay’s City Council; Office No. 5 on Dibble’s School Board; and Office No. 5 on Elmore City-Pernell’s School Board.
In Garvin County, there are four Republican candidates in the primary for County Sheriff.
In Grady County, there are two Republican candidates for County Clerk, and two for County Court Clerk.
In Garvin, Grady, and McClain Counties, voters will decide the Republican candidate for Corporation Commission.
In Garvin County, voters will decide the Republican candidate in primaries for State Senate District 13 and District 43, and State Representative District 20 and District 42.
In McClain County, voters will decide the Republican candidate in primaries for State Senate District 43, and for State Representative District 20.
Voters in Grady County will decide the Proposition to levy a one-eighth of one percent sales tax for the Grady County Senior Nutrition Centers located in Alex, Chickasha, Minco, Ninnekah, Rush Springs, Tuttle and Verden.
Voters across Oklahoma will decide State Question No. 802, Initiative Petition No. 419 for the expansion of Medicaid coverage.
Primaries will also be held for United States Senator and United States Representative District 04, both Democrat and Republican.
Remember to VOTE TUES., JUNE 30.

Lindsay’s American Legion, Ball-Smith Post 23 has presented awards to many of the Lindsay School kiddos for the 2019-2020 school year.
Seniors Kaleb Brown, Brooklen Erickson, and Gentry Holden were presented with the Leadership scholarships.
Leadership awards went to sixth-graders Natalie Cottrell and Hunter Russell, seventh-graders Cale Hines and Kennedy Smith, eighth-graders Easton Bray and Aleah Scruggs, Freshmen Austin Hines and Emma Smith, Sophomores Kaylee Marcum and Teegan Smith, Juniors Gerardo Lopez and Hallie Taylor, and Seniors Gentry Holden and Jody Webb.
Congratulations to these fantastic kiddos!
