Lindsay Council to hold monthly meeting

The Lindsay City Council will be having their monthly meeting, according to a member.
The meeting will be held on Mon., June 13 at 6:00 p.m., and will be held at the Council Chambers in the Lindsay Municipal Building, located at 204 W. Creek in Lindsay.
Council members include Beverly Barker, Bart Drennan, Amy Elledge, Anthony Hernandez, Tom Inman, Josh Miller, and Robin Staggs.

Vacation Bible School set at Maysville Church

Summertime is in full swing, and it’s time for Vacation Bible School!
“Come to the Avalanche Ranch Vacation Bible School (VBS), a wild ride through God’s Word!” That’s the word from Linda Franklin at Maysville Assembly of God.
VBS will be held Wed., June 8 through Sat., June 11, each evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Kiddos should get ready for an exciting celebration of God’s love, filled with stampeding cattle, yapping cattle dogs, soaring eagles, and a whole herd of friends.
They will enjoy Bible Point Crafts and exciting games, experience thrilling Bible stories, sample tasty snacks, and hear unforgettable music.
VBS will be held at the Maysville Assembly of God, located at 23720 Hwy. 19, west of Maysville on Hwy. 19.

Board of Education to hold meeting

The Lindsay Board of Education is holding its regular monthly meeting Mon., June 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the board meeting room, according to a member.
The board meeting room is adjacent to the superintendent’s office in the high school, at 302 S.W. 8th in Lindsay.
Board members are Julie Martin, Clint Simonton, Larry Winn, Dr. Steve Pracht and Mitch Lindsey.

VBS starts June 5 at Lindsay First Baptist

It’s summertime, and that means Vacation Bible School (VBS) kicks off Sun., June 5 at Lindsay’s First Baptist Church. VBS lasts through Wed., June 8, according to Cindy Flood.
This year’s theme is “Created in Christ, Designed for God’s Purpose: Spark Studios.”
The schedule for Sunday will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and will feature inflatables and food. Registrations will also be taken during this time.
Classes will be held Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
Wednesday evening is set for VBS family night and will begin at 6:00 p.m., with free dinner following.
The church is located at 401 S.W. Third Street.

Open Rodeo is this weekend in Lindsay

Bull riding! Ranch bronc riding! Bareback bronc riding! Tie-down calf roping! Break-away roping! Team roping! Open barrel racing – junior and senior! And a calf scramble – are events everyone will enjoy at the Lindsay Open Rodeo.
The rodeo is set for this weekend, Fri., June 3 and Sat., June 4, according to a news release.
The popular Mutton Bustin’ event for ages six and under begins at 7:30 p.m. Sign-up starts at 6:30 p.m.
The rodeo begins at 8:00 p.m. each night.
There is a discounted price for kids ages seven to 11 to watch the rodeo, and ages six and under get to watch for FREE.
