Foodbank distribution set for Saturday

Lindsay Community Foodbank distribution for the month of June will be Sat., June 25, according to Lisa Jackson.
Food will be distributed at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 410 W. Chickasaw in Lindsay.
Ms. Jackson announced that the time to pick up food has changed to 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Those needing to fill out an application to receive food may do so at the church from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday. The church is located at 410 W. Chickasaw in Lindsay.
Individuals or groups interested in making a donation or volunteering should call the church at 405-756-2781.

Calvary Baptist hosts Monumental VBS

Calvary Baptist Church of Lindsay invites children to Monumental VBS: Celebrating God’s Greatness!
Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held Mon., June 27 through Wed., June 29 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. each day, according to Lisa Jackson.
At Monumental, kids explore the sunbaked Southwestern desert as they dig into God’s great love!
They will participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible Adventures, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos that they will take home and play with all summer long.
Each day will conclude with a Canyon Closing that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.
Monumental VBS is for kids who have completed kindergarten to fifth grade.
Family members and friends are encouraged to come to a special family time on Wed., June 29 at 6:00 p.m.
A nursery will not be provided.

The Antioch Church announces new pastor

The Antioch Chuch is excited to introduce new pastor Jimmy Balentine, according to Angie McWhirter.
The church will be hosting an ice cream social on Sat., June 25 to welcome and meet Pastor Jimmy and his wife Debbie.
Ms. McWhirter explained that everyone is welcome to attend the social, which is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Fun! Food! Fireworks! – set in Lindsay

A summer night of Fun, Food, and Fireworks is set for Fri., June 24 in Lindsay, according to Kevin Scruggs of Lindsay’s KBLP Radio.
This event is sure to provide fun and fellowship for the entire family!
Events for the evening include food trucks, recently installed new games at Glen Curlee Park, live music by The Mullet Boyz and a FREE fireworks show after dusk.
Any groups or teams who would like to set up a fundraiser during the event are asked to call KBLP at 405-756-4438 to get that organized.
The fun celebration will take place in Lindsay’s Glen Curlee Park.
“These festivities are made possible by a growing list of sponsors, who never hestitate to support our community!” Mr. Scruggs explained.
Glen Curlee Park is located at the corner of S.W. 4th and Apache in Lindsay.
Mr. Scruggs expressed this thanks to everyone who is making this celebration possilbe.

Church of God clothes closet opens Saturday

The Erin Springs Church of God’s clothing closet will be open this weekend, Sat., June 18, according to Linda Brothers.
All the clothing is FREE. People from the surrounding areas are welcome.
The closet will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church, located at 14028 E. County Road 1518, south of Lindsay on Hwy. 76, or just south of the Washita River bridge.
