The Lindsay Community Historical Society is looking for people to assist with the following community services at the Murray-Lindsay Mansion and the Pikes Peak School Museums in Erin Springs:
Cleaning of both buildings, watering and garden care, repairing books and making a list of them, filing and other office duties, helping with set-up for Museum Events.
This is a community service employment program through the AARP Foundation. This program provides individuals over age 55 with opportunities to contribute their skills and offer them valuable work experience.

Celebrate Recovery meets every Monday
Celebrate Recovery meets every Monday at the Erin Springs Baptist Church, according to Kim Dutton.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, habits, or hangups of any kind.
Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our lives.
Erin Springs Baptist Church is located south of Lindsay, at 13053 Hwy. 76.
A meal is served at 5:30. The meeting starts at 6:30. Childcare is provided.

FREE all-day music jamboree set Saturday
“Enjoy music and singing at the FREE all day Music Jamboree for the community on Sat., Aug. 13.” That’s the word from Jallane Link.
There will be Bluegrass, Gospel, Country, and Folk Music at the Chickasha Inn Conference Room, 2101 South 4th Street (across from McDonald’s) in Chickasha.
The doors will open at 10:00 a.m. for coffee and doughnuts, and musical groups and individuals will be performing until 5:30 p.m.
Everyone is asked to bring a finger food, and enjoy music and singing. Door prizes will be given during the day. All ages are welcome, and the admission is by donations to pay for the coffee, donuts, sandwiches, and the rent.

It’s Time to Meet the Leopards
School starts Thursday. Football season is just around the corner. That means it’s time to Meet the Leopards – on Fri., Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
There will be loads of fun for everyone!
The 2022 Lindsay Leopard football team will be introduced, along with the Cheer Team, and the Lindsay High School Band.
The Leopards’ annual Intra-squad Scrimmage begins immediately after the Meet the Leopards event, at 7:00 p.m. The Band and Cheer Team will perform during halftime of the scrimmage.
KBLP Radio will provide hot dogs, chips, and a drink for a donation to the Lindsay Quarterback Club.
Mohawk Ice will be there to sell sno-cones, and A&J’s Sweet Shenanigans will be there to sell ice cream.
The evening’s events will be held at Burford Field, located on the south side of the Lindsay School campus, in the southwest part of Lindsay.
The Leopards’ home opener is Fri., Aug. 26, against the Pauls Valley Panthers.
Lindsay schools start August 11
We’ve had a great summer, and now it’s time for school to start.
Open House for Lindsay Public Schools is set for Tues., Aug. 9 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Lindsay Public Schools begin their 2022-2023 session on Thurs., Aug. 11.
