The Lindsay music department will host the Kona Ice truck Thur., Mar. 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., according to an announcement.
The truck will be in the parking lot west of Leopard Arena, 800 W. Creek in Lindsay.
The announcement stated that funds raised from the sale of the sweet, icy treats will support band and vocal students.
Payne Baptist Chruch of Lindsay is set to celebrate its 100th year anniversary Sat., Mar 18, according to a member.
The celebration will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the church, located at 13412 Western Ave., Lindsay
Refreshments will be served and all are invited to come enjoy the celebration, the church member explained.
South Central Medical Center along with the Oklahoma Blood Institute will be honoring the blood donors of Lindsay at the Community Blood Drive set for Thurs., Mar. 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., according to Tamara L Aprill.
There will be food and free t-shirts. With the help of local businesses, there will be give-a-ways every half-hour, as well as two large give-a-ways.
Each business that donates will be mentioned on the radio, listed on the Oklahoma Blood Institue’s blood drive posters, and recognition in the newspaper.
Lindsay has been one of the largest, most consistent blood donating communities for over 20 years, much in part to the efforts of former Shopper News Note founder Gary Smith.
South Central Medical Center along with the Oklahoma Blood Institute would like to recognize Lindsay donors.
The Lindsay mayor has signed a proclamation to make the month of March, “Blood Donor Appreciation Month.”

Lindsay American Legion, Ball-Smith Post 23, flag program has started for this year, according to Dave Hardin.
Those who want them to place the American flag in front of their business or home are asked to contact Dave Hardin at 405-756-7780.
The Legion expressed thanks to all who continue to support the program and show their patriotism by displaying flags during Federal holidays.
Story time with Thelma Howell will be held at the Pikes Peak School Museum, according to Thelma Love.
The topic for Ms. Howell story time will be “It’s all about community.”
Ms. Howell, a long-time resident of the Lindsay community, will share her story on Sun., Mar. 12 at 2:00 p.m.
Many will remember the different restaurants of John and Thelma. They were active in the American Legion and offered many community services to people.
Everyone is invited to enjoy her Family History and participate in some cultural enrichment activities.
This event is hosted by the Lindsay Community Historical Society.
