Storytelling set at Pikes Peak Museum

Another Storytelling of the Lindsay community is set for Sun., June 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pikes Peak School Museum in Erin Springs, according to Thelma Love.
The story of Loyd and Nellie Taylor will be told by their daughter, Jean Work.
It all began when Loyd moved to Lindsay, Oklahoma and married Nellie Simmons in 1947.
Ms. Work will share her memories of her parents and 20 siblings. Each storytelling brings us closer together as a community, both in the past and in the present.
These presentations are free to the public and hosted by the Lindsay Community Historical Society.

Cowboy church clothes closet to close

Livingword Cowboy Church is closing their clothes closet, according to Pearline Perkey.
They clothes closet will be open from Sat.-Sun., June 10-11 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the church located at 2605 Hwy. 19 in Bradley.
Ms. Perkey explained that everything must go and asks everyone come out help get it gone.

Calvary Baptist Church to host Stellar VBS

Calvary Baptist Church located at 410 W Chickasaw in Lindsay will be having Vacation Bible School Mon.-Wed., June 12-14. from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. each day, according to Lisa Jackson.
All children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grades are invited to attend.
This year’s theme is Stellar: Shine Jesus light. It will be an out of this world adventure with a space theme.
There will be Bible stories, songs, games, activities and mission opportunities.
“Join us as we learn to shine Jesus light to all those around us,” Ms. Jackson stated.

Father’s Day BBQ Cook-off set

The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce is set to host a Father’s Day BBQ Cook-Off Contest on Sat., June 10, according to Chamber manager, Clara Doan.
The cook-off will be held from noon until 3:00 p.m. in the Glenn Curlee Park. The park is located in the 800 block of S.W. 4th in Lindsay.
Participants provide their own meat. Trophies will be awarded to the winner.
“If you are a dad, granddad, or father figure in someone’s life, and wish to participate, please come by the Chamber for an entry form,” Ms. Doan explained.
The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce is located at the north end of Lindsay’s grand brick Main Street.
