Quarterback Club to hold meeting

The Lindsay Leopard Quarterback Club will have their first meeting of the year on Thur., July 20th., according to Rulissa Jones
The group will meet at 5:30 pm at the Football Field house.
Parents or guardians of current 7th – 12th grade Lindsay Leopard football players are encouraged to attend and get involved.
Plans for the upcoming year will be discussed.
“Learn how you can be involved and help make this year a success”, Ms. Jones explained.

OSDH Takes Wellness Services on the Road

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) District 8 mobile wellness unit will offer public health services from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 at the Lindsay Chamber of Commerce, located at 107 N. Main St., Lindsay, according to a news release.
No-cost services offered by the mobile wellness unit will include: general checkups for ages one and up, lab tests (cholesterol, A1C, thyroid and metabolic panels), minor illness treatment, STD/STI testing, COVID-19 vaccines, resources and referrals, blood pressure screenings and other public health services.

SCMC to host benefit bake sale

South Central Medical Center will be hosting a bake sale at the All American blood drive, Thur., July 13, according to Anthony Rauseo.
Proceeds will be used to fund the “Community Cool Down” program, which is dedicated to ensuring every family in Lindsay has the opportunity to use the city pool each summer.

Pernell all school reunion set for August 19

The 2023 Pernell reunion is set for Sat., Aug. 19 at the First Baptist Church in Elmore City, according to an announcement.
Doors will open at 12:00 noon. A meal will be served at 1:30. There will be a short program after lunch.
Brisket and drinks will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or dessert of their choice.
All former classmates, teachers, employees and friends of Pernell Schools are encouraged to attend and spread the words to others.
The church is located at 107 S. Texas Street.
The 50 year class of 1973 will be recognized during this year’s reunion.

Lindsay Library welcomes visitors

Lindsay Community Library welcomes all readers in Lindsay and surrounding areas, according to Director, Brenda Norrell.
“We gladly accept donations of hardback books published within the last three yars and current paperback books in good shape. We also have a table with free books for those who want to expand their home libraries.” Ms. Norell explained.
The libray is located at 112 W. Choctaw in Lindsay and is open Mon., Tues., Wed., and Fri. from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Thurs., from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., and Sat., 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
The Lindsay Community Library also has numerous historical pictures and information related to Lindsay and surrounding area and a multi-purpose room available to the public.
