Food Bank distribution set for Saturday

Lindsay Community Food Bank distribution is set for Sat., Oct. 28 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., according to Lisa Jackson, program coordinator.
The Food Bank is located at Calvary Baptist Church, 410 W. Chickasaw in Lindsay.
Those needing to sign up to receive food from the Food Bank are asked to fill out an application available at the church Mon. – Thur. between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Monetary donations and volunteers who help pack boxes are appreciated. Those interested in helping are asked to contact the church at 405-756-2781.

Friday Night Lights shine in Oklahoma

It’s football time in Oklahoma!
Yes, the skies across Oklahoma’s plains will be lit with Friday night lights. High school football is off and running in southern Oklahoma, and games begin at 7:00 p.m.
Lindsay travels to Purcell
Maysville travels to Fox
Alex hosts Davenport
On Sat., Sept.30 the Oklahoma Sooners host the Iowa State Cyclones.
“Wear your school colors, and get your cheering voice ready, because football season is here!” one fan encouraged.

Dept. of Veteran Affairs rep to be in Lindsay

Alan Jacobson, with the Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs, will be back at the Lindsay Community Library the first Tuesday of every month, according to Brenda Norrell.
Mr. Jacobson will be available by appointment to help Veterans with claims, benefits, and any questions they may have.
The Lindsay Community Library is located at 112 W. Choctaw in Lindsay.
