It’s that time of the year again. The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce is accepting Joy Store Applications, according to Clara Doan.
Proof of income will be required with each applicant.
Applications can be picked up at the Lindsay Chamber Mon. – Thur., 9:30 am – 12:00 pm or at the Lindsay Elementary School office through Mon., Nov. 13.
“Applications will need to be returned to the Elementary School office if you have children that are enrolled in Lindsay School, all other applications can be returned to the Chamber of Commerce,” Ms. Doan explained.
All applications must be turned in by Tues, Nov. 21.

Lindsay Chamber to host Fall After Hours
The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce will hosting their Fall After Hours on Tue., Oct. 10th, 2023 from 6:00 p.m – 7:30 p.m., according to Clara Doan.
Guest speakers are Representative Cynthia Roe and Clarissa Robison from Mid-America Vo-Tech, Wayne, OK.
All businesses are invited to the event which will be held at the Depot, located at 107 N. Main.
Tickets are available and can be purchased at the door or prior to the event by calling the Chamber or going by the Chamber. There will be a 50/50 drawing and silent auction to help raise money for future events.

Memories of Purdy community to be shared
There will be a Purdy Gathering at the Lindsay Library Multi-Purpose Room on Sat., Oct. 7th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to Janet Williams
Everyone is invited to attend!
“If possible, please post on our Facebook page “Oklahoma Purdyites Unite Here” if you think you’ll be able to attend so we can have an estimate on seating needs. Twice as many as we expected came last time – which was wonderful – but many had nowhere it sit,” Ms. Williams explained.
Jody Holden has done much research and has put it on a thumbnail with many old photos and stories from Purdy’s past. She has also included old photos and stories posted on our Facebook page from our original Gathering in 2015. Stories include Tully Beverly, Mary Nell Knapp’s grandfather, and so many others amazing stories

Revival set at Cox City Baptist Church
Revival is set for Sun., Oct. 8 thru Tues., Oct. 10 at Cox City Baptist Church, according to Tiffani Shebester.
Dr. Robert Wilson, Pastor of Loco Baptist Church will be preaching nightly. Special music will be presented by Megan Dutton on Sunday and Monday, and Dominic Newell on Tuesday.
Sunday evening will start with a cookout in the country (not at the church). Details and location are availabe by calling 405-756-6058. The meal will begin at 5:00 p.m. with services to to follow at 6:30 p.m. “Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy some good food, good fellowship and good worship,” Ms. Shebester explained.
Monday and Tuesday services begin at 7:00 p.m. at the church, located at 2409 Cox City Road, Rush Springs.
“We hope to see you there!” Ms. Shebester added.
Pauls Valley Opry performs Saturday
The Pauls Valley Opry performance is set for Sat.,
Oct. 7 at the Pauls Valley Junior High School Auditorium, according to Becky Hill.
The evening kicks off at 6:30 p.m., with music featuring the Memory Makers Band.
Special guests include Mike Deviney, Tracy Watts Felan, Missy Rude, Wayne Gibbs, Dea Newsom, and introducing “CHECKERS.”
The MC is John Williams.
Admission is charged, but children ages 12 and under are admitted FREE of charge.
