Fri., Nov. 10 is the Erin Springs Church of God monthly Indian taco dinner, according to Linda Brothers.
The dinner includes an Indian taco, dessert, and drink. The proceeds go toward funding different ministries of the church, such as mission (world, regional, and local).
The dinner will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church, located at 14028 E. County Road 1518, south of Lindsay on Hwy. 76, or just south of the Washita River bridge.
Call-in orders are welcome by contacting the church at 405-756-8685. There is limited delivery to businesses in Lindsay. Diners may dine in, or take-out dinners are also available.

Veterans’ Day (originally known as Armistice Day) is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans, who are people who have served in the United States Armed Forces (that were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable).
It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day which are celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I.
Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. At the urging of major U.S. veteran organizations, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans’ Day in 1954.
The first Armistice Day was observed on November 11, 1919, under U.S. President Woodrow Wilson.

Lindsay Police Department is now accepting donations for the annual “Shop with a Cop” event, according to an announcement.
The event is hosted by the Lindsay Police Department with the gracious support and help from businesses and citizens that make our community so great.
The goal of the event is to assist as many children in our community as possible.
Donations are being accepted now through Sat., Nov. 18. Donations in the form of cash or checks can be dropped off at the Lindsay Police Department, 801 N. Industrial Hts.

The Lindsay Elks Lodge will be presenting a Veterans Day Parade on Sat., Nov. 11, according to a news release.
The parade, honoring all who have served will recognize Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard.
The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. on Lindsay’s grand brick Main Street.
Also, there will be Main Street sidewalk sales, according to Clara Doan, Chamber Manager and Kim Griffith, City of Lindsay.
There will be vendors, and some of the businesses open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., explained Ms. Griffith.
